TKT Systems – Terms and Conditions for Ticket Buyers

1. Acceptance of Terms

By clicking “I Agree” or by using the Services to purchase or manage a ticket, you affirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TKT Systems Ltd under the laws of the Republic of Uganda.

2. Eligibility

• At least 18 years old; or
• Using the Services with verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian (e.g., for school/youth events).

TKT may request proof of age or consent and reserves the right to cancel tickets purchased in violation of this clause.

3. Ticket Purchases

a. All Sales Are Final

Unless explicitly stated otherwise by the event organizer or required under Ugandan law, all ticket purchases are non-refundable.

b. Transferability

Ticket transfer policies are set by the event organizer. Some tickets may be non-transferable or have time-based restrictions.

c. Pricing and Fees

Ticket prices are determined by the event organizer and may include:

• TKT service fees (a % of ticket price),
• Payment processing fees (mobile money, card gateways),
• Applicable VAT (18%) and Withholding Tax (WHT).

All prices are shown in Ugandan Shillings (UGX) unless otherwise stated.

d. Currency Conversion

If purchasing from outside Uganda, prices may be converted using prevailing exchange rates. Your bank or payment provider may apply additional charges.

e. Purchase Limits & Anti-Scalping

• Per-Person Limits: Each event may set a maximum number of tickets per individual.
• Unauthorised Resale Prohibited: Reselling outside official TKT exchange is prohibited.
• Circumvention Prohibited: Use of bots, scripts, proxies, multiple accounts, or similar means is prohibited.
• Enforcement: Breaches may result in ticket cancellation without refund, denial of entry, and account/device blocks.
• Official Exchange: Only permitted if enabled for the event.

4. Event Organizer Responsibility

TKT is a technology platform and is not the event organizer. We do not produce, manage, or control events and are not responsible for event quality, changes in schedule, cancellations, or venue logistics. Claims related to the event itself must be directed to the organizer.

5. Account Responsibility

• Keep your contact details accurate and current.
• Maintain confidentiality of login credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.

6. Prohibited Conduct

• Commit fraud or attempt chargeback abuse.
• Resell tickets without official exchange enabled.
• Exceed purchase limits or use bots/scripts to circumvent.
• Tamper with ticket data or create counterfeits.
• Interfere with platform functionality or security.
• Infringe intellectual property rights.
• Engage in unlawful behavior while using the platform.

Violations may result in cancellation, denial of entry, account blocks, and legal action.

7. Event Entry and Ticket Verification

Your ticket will be scanned at the venue. Ensure your device is charged and the ticket is clearly visible. Organizers may require ID or the contact details used for purchase. Tickets flagged as invalid may be denied entry, cancelled, or confiscated without refund.

8. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Refunds

If an event is cancelled or rescheduled, we will notify you using your account details. Refunds depend on the organizer’s policy. TKT only processes refunds when instructed and funded by the organizer. We are not liable for additional costs (travel, accommodation, etc.).

9. Liability Disclaimer

The Services are provided “as is”. We do not guarantee ticket availability, event occurrence, or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by Ugandan law, TKT disclaims liability for event-related issues, third-party failures, or consequential damages. We are not liable for force majeure events outside our control.

10. Privacy

We collect and use your data under our Privacy Policy. By using our Services, you consent to processing under Ugandan law, including the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.

11. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

• Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda.
• Informal Resolution: Contact [email protected] first.
• Arbitration: Disputes will be settled by binding arbitration in Kampala under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, Cap. 4.
• Class Action Waiver: Disputes will be resolved individually, not as part of a collective action.
